They both have strings attached.
Have you ever wondered why having clutter—too much stuff—makes you tried? It’s because it takes energy to manage it.
Manage? Yes, manage. Even though we park our things somewhere or have them just hanging out around us, it takes energy. Our energy. Yours. Mine.
Clutter has strings attached to your Energy.
Think about the clutter that really bothers you the most. Be truthful. Read the following statements. Then ask yourself how frequently do these thoughts pop into your head?
- I can’t believe that this stuff is still in my home.
- I should organize this.
- Do I even want or like this?
- Oh, but it was a gift, I can’t give that away.
- But I spent so much money on it—I’ll never be able to replace that.
- I don’t like it, but it’s good enough.
- Someday I will get to those piles.
- I just don’t have time to deal with all this stuff.
- I wonder where that thing is.
- This was my mother’s. I just can’t get rid of it.
- I don’t even like these clothes.
- What’s in that storage area anyway?
- Where did all this stuff come from?
- I wish my life was simpler.
- What’s in those boxes anyway?
- I hate going into that room—it’s so full of junk.
As you read these, could you relate? Maybe a few twangs of familiarity. If so, that’s the energy drain!
And…did you notice how your body felt? Perhaps a you felt a little heaviness–another energy drain. It’s the strings—those dang clutter strings—tugging at you.
Your body is brilliant and it tells you what does and doesn’t bring you joy—what lifts your energy. You can trust your body’s signals about your clutter. Just like Gulliver—clutter has strings that tie you down energetically.
I understand that tackling clutter is not for the faint of heart. For me, being a part of an amazingly supportive community was pivotal to clearing my mountain of clutter. Each month I took dedicated time to experience real success and to clear away what no longer mattered. All those successes serve me everyday. Clearing the clutter made space for monumental inside changes. It is change over time works.
That’s why I created a new program—ClutterFasting—to help you clear your clutter. ClutterFasting offers you monthly support so you can consistently take Authentic Action towards clearing clutter, discovering limiting beliefs and reclaiming your space and your energy.
This is Self-Care on steroids!
Intrigued? Check out the complete details for the ClutterFasting Program. If you sign up on or before January 15th, you’ll get $100 Early Bird discount.
I’d invite you to do this for you. You’ll be glad you did!
