We just attended the deliciously wonderful wedding of my nephew, Jess, and his precious bride, Angie, yesterday. Love came from their eyes. From their words. From their tears. It was bliss and a yummy celebration.
My dear hubby drove home. We needed to leave the celebration early so we could drive back (3 + hours if you don’t hit a deer) to Wisconsin–and our two labs. So off we went.
He’s a sly one, my Bill. He had a trick up his sleeve and took me on a “date” on the way home. Applebee’s was delicious. I loved the company–and the surprise.
It was getting late and I knew I was the “deer patrol” while Bill drove. So I stopped at Caribou Coffee. For those of you who don’t know about Caribou, it’s a Minnesota coffee place that is similar, but better, than Starbuck’s. Their tagline is, “Life is short. Stay awake for it.” Don’t ya love it?
Anyway, the point of my gibberish is this, when I’m on the look out, goodness is here, there and everywhere. Are you lookin’?
I ordered my vanilla latte and it came in the most wonderful container. This is what my coffee cup had on it…
- Hold hands, not grudges
- Take the stairs
- Kiss slowly, and forgive quickly
- Remember where you came from
- Sleep under the stars
- Do more cannon balls
- Get there on two wheels
- Tell someone you love them
- Surprise your B.F.F. with a cup of coffee
- Dream big, act bigger
- Build communities, not empires
- Pick up the check
- Read poetry
- Send your grandma a card
- Give a kid some crayons
- Stir emotions
- Roll down the hill
- Marry your sweetheart
- Re-read your favorite book
- Teach a child to fish
- Question authority
- Technology is good but people are better
- Go home early and play with your kids
- You are as wonderful as your dog things you are
- Take a 7 day weekend
- Sip it, sip it good
- Max out your passport
- Run your feet, not your mouth
- Do the hokey pokey
- Say 5 nice things about the person sitting across from you
If those don’t bring a smile, a chill up your spine and bring you some joy—please check your pulse!
Life is so full of goodness—find it, embrace it, live it, cherish it.
What’s your goodness today?
Blessings, Coach Lee
