Thanksgiving for Life

The “T” Day
Thanksgiving isn’t about turkey and a get together—although those are great too. It’s about really noticing all we are grateful for. I like that there’s a day set aside for this, but really isn’t thankfulness a daily matter?

Living in a place of gratitude brings peace.

These days I’m like a thankfulness ninja. It’s everywhere—I see it, I feel it, I experience it. So…here’s my top ten for today.

One
Being in a personal relationship with a God who loves me unconditionally.

Two
Being married to my husband for 26 years and cherishing him even more each day.

Three
Having rich relationships with my three children and my five grandchildren. Oh, had I mentioned that I’m an out-of-control granny?

Four
Being gifted with friends and family that give love, provide support, speak truth and bring richness to my life.

Five
Loving and supporting others and myself in the way God has gifted me.

Six
Surviving emotional, physical, sexual and spiritual abuse—and living a flourishing life because of it–which means living fully at choice and knowing that I am not stuck anywhere.

Seven
Celebrating each day and seeing it as a canvas for learning, growing and forgiving.

Eight
Staying present in the moment—before it passes me by and I miss something juicy!

Nine
Enjoying freedom everyday and being grateful for all the men/women in the military who sacrifice to ensure it.

Ten
Living with contentment that I am enough.

And You?
As you listen to your heart—and not your circumstance—what are you thankful for today?

Happy Thanksgiving today and every day.

Blessing!

  1. I love this blog entry Coach Lee and just can’t help but say today that I am glad i am not the only one who just loves and cherishes the little things in each day. I am soo easy to please…time in the morning for journaling and coffee makes me soo happy and then doing yoga and stretching and eating yogurt…with a half banana…makes my body feel fabulous. I don’t need fancy european trips, expensive jewelry or a huge bank account balance to have gratitude the flows around me like a warm river. What i do need is quiet to be ok with myself and keep caught up with me, music, alot of hugs from small children ( which are plentiful in my life) and women friends that inspire me like you. I am grateful today…tomorrow , forever

Thanks for your comment. Coach Helene, I love what you wrote about “gratitude that flows around me like a warm river.” That expresses all of what I am feeling and experience. True, simple is wonderful, but kids are the best. Thank you for being such a wonderful woman, role model and my favorite mentor coach!

I am happy that you are doing so well Lee! Thank you for the blogs. I am so trying to find peace and gratitude, but just cannot feel it lately.

Your photo is darling, like you! You’re welcome for the blog–I am thankful for you. You bet, we all have times when peace and gratitude are a bit scarce. I like to look for even the smallest grain of gratitude. It helps me keep perspective. Miss you!
