“We must be willing to let go of the life we planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us.”

Joseph Campbell

If ever there was a year to let go of the life we thought we ‘should’ be living, then this is it!

Following the announcement here in the UK earlier this week of another national lockdown, I’ve found myself saying, ‘All bets are off!’

In the space that’s opened up, I reckon there’s an opportunity to let go of the same old, same old approaches to planning and making things happen. Instead to approach the year ahead with a spirt of curiosity: what’s possible?🤔

I let go of making new years resolution many years ago. Instead I created a simple 3 step process which I do sometime in January to uncover the year I REALLY want for myself.

The process involves a journaling exercise, a visualisation (a bit like a meditation) and then some cutting and pasting. Yep, that simple!

The output is a vision board which I use like a compass to help me navigate the months ahead. To avoid doing things I think I ‘should’ be doing, going down rabbit holes…and getting myself back out of them when I do😳, and getting caught up in comparison with others.

It helps me to stay true to myself and my dreams. To be clearer in the choices I make.

Fancy some of this for yourself?

I invite you to join me (on Zoom) for 2 hours next Wednesday 13th January, from 10am – 12pm to uncover a new vision for yourself in 2021.

There’ll be the guided visualisation followed by some fun cutting & pasting.

You’ll need the following supplies,

  • a random pile of 10 magazines which you are happy to cut up.  These can be anything from fashion to lifestyle to sport – the more mixed the better!
  • a piece of card approx 30-50cm wide and 50-65cm long. I buy mine from The Range…but whatever you can get your hands on works!
  • a glue stick
  • a pair of scissors
  • optional – colouring pens and glitter🌟

To book, please send me an email arlene@arlenefl.com by midday Monday to let me know you’re in. I’ll send you details for the call AND a journaling exercise to complete in advance.

Please note, you will need to set aside an hour on Tuesday to do the journaling exercise.

Suggested donation is £25, and you’re welcome to pay whatever works for you. My wish is for all who desire it to have access to it. PayPal link here.

I hope you’ll take time to ease yourself in to this year ahead, dear friend, however that looks for you.

Let’s flourish together!

Love, Arlene x

PS. I am running a similar workshop specifically around Creativity next weekend for The Writer’s Company. It’s in 2 parts. Details here

Dates don’t work? Let me know, and I’ll have a go at recording the session and making it available so that you can do it yourself at a time that does.
