The school holidays have started: six weeks stretch ahead.
We’ve kicked off by having a few days to ourselves while daughter has her special time with one of her grandmothers.
I was away this weekend with girlfriends: outdoor swims, lying under the shade of an enormous tree beside a river with bright blue damsel flies darting about, and meals eaten outside.
I arrived back yesterday evening, ate aubergine & courgette parmigiana on the deck with my husband and then walked Jess (our dog) up to the allotment to pick veg and water.
A perfect few days.😍
AND a reminder of the key ingredients for my version of a great summer break,
- Picking produce from the garden and making simple food
- Eating outdoors
- Outdoor swimming
- A camping holiday – garden or elsewhere
- Making things outside together – like a covered space on our deck and some simple furniture.
